The 3666 (three
triple six) Certificate in Communications Cabling is
designed to provide the specialist knowledge and skills
required to carry out the installation of fibre optic and/or
copper cabling for communications applications. The 3666
award is accredited within the UK's National Qualifications
Framework and is currently awarded by City and Guilds.
It comprises
four possible units. The core unit
01 will be beneficial
to all communications cabling installers. Units
02 and
04 are primarily
designed for IT/data cabling installers. Unit
03 is for
telecoms outside plant cabling installers. You will receive
a certificate for each unit that you complete.

To gain the full
level 2 qualification "3666 Certificate in Communications
Cabling" you need to take the core unit (unit 01) plus one
of the units 02, 03 or 04. These units may
be taken in any order, although if you are new to the
industry then we recommend that you take the core unit
first.
