Fibre optic connector inspection software
Automated fibre optic connector inspection image analysis software is available, from the major test equipment manufacturers. This software is designed to analyse connector end faces and produce a digital image. The images are compared to custom Pass/Fail criteria programmed to match industry standards such as IEC 61300-3-35. The systems can detect and measure pits, groups of pits, chains of pits, scratches, curved scratches, chips at the fibre edge, and particulate contamination. Usually the software is free for use on the manufacturers’ specific equipment.

AFL SimpleView™ Fiber Inspection Software
AFL’s SimpleView software provides a live, high resolution video image of the end-face of an optical fibre. This enables fiber installers and network technicians to inspect and troubleshoot optical fibres, verifying connector end-faces are clean and undamaged.
ConnectorMax inspection software
EXFO’s ConnectorMax inspection software enables field technicians to analyse defects and scratches and measure their impact on connector performance. Results are then compared against pre-programmed standards or user-defined criteria, leading to immediate pass/fail verdicts on-site.
FiberChekMOBILE is the mobile version of the FiberChekPRO software program to inspect, test, save, and certify fibre connectors in an optical network. FiberChekMOBILE works in conjunction with Viavi Solutions test products; including the P5000i digital analysis probe microscope and MP-Series Optical Power Meters. Once connected, users can view live images of the fibre connector end face, perform automated Pass/Fail analysis tests, measure optical power at multiple wavelengths, generate certification reports, and send results instantly via email.
